DESCRIPTION

Join our Device OS organization, the driving force behind the operating system solutions for Amazon Devices like Fire Tablets, Fire TV, and Amazon Echo. We are seeking a talented individual to lead our Developer Tools and Services, empowering developers company-wide to create top-notch software for these innovative platforms.

**Basic Qualifications:**
- Minimum 6 years of programming experience in languages like C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby
- At least 4 years of professional software development experience
- Extensive background (6+ years) in designing and architecting new systems, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scaling
- 4+ years of hands-on systems development in IT or data center environments
- Proficiency (4+ years) in deploying and operating within Linux/Unix environments
- Strong expertise (6+ years) in systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process enhancement
- Familiarity with modern programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Perl
- Prior experience in leading the design, construction, and deployment of sophisticated, high-performing software solutions in production environments



Key job responsibilities
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD configurations and workflows (Jenkins AWS CDK, Launch templates)
Containerization/Virtualization: Docker and AWS services such as AWS Fargate, Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS, and AWS Batch
Proficiency in at programming languages like Python, Groovy (Jenkins Automation scripts) and Bash.
Experience in implementing Ansible, Chef, or similar configuration management tools.
Good knowledge of Git, Git LFS, hooks, bisect, merge strategies, repo, submodules, Gerrit
AOSP Builds, CMake, GNU Make

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with distributed systems at scale

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
