Amazon’s Customer Service organization is looking to expand its software engineering team to help drive automation and defect reduction for customers. We are searching for smart and passionate Programmer Analyst to solve complex technical problems and to work with engineering and business teams distributed across the globe.

Amazon's Customer Service (CS) department is seeking an experienced Programmer Analyst (PA) to join the team. CS is the heart of Amazon, our vision is to be "Earth's most customer-centric company; to build a place where people can come to find and discover anything they might want to buy online."

Key job responsibilities
The successful candidate will work within the Amazon Stores Customer Service (ASCS) Product and Tech team and own the delivery of technical changes from a strong roadmap of projects. The projects range from introducing automation for image and media analysis for customers to new Email, Push and SMS notifications. The candidate will gain a vast amount of experience in a short time period by working with various technical teams from across the globe on an away team model basis as well.

A day in the life
As a Programmer Analyst in ASCS Product and Tech, you will take the lead on building innovative solutions and to address the root causes of defects for Amazon's customer. Successful candidates will be expected to show leadership on strong bias for action, invent and simplify, insist on the highest standards and deliver results.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors in Computer Science or a related field.
• 3+ years overall development/technical support experience.
• Strong object oriented development knowledge in C++ and/or Java.
• Knowledge of the UNIX/Linux operating system.
• Ability to understand functional/technical specifications and analyze data
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues.
• Demonstrates skill and passion for operational excellence.
• Documentation skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
