The AWS DNS team is seeking talented System Development Engineers to design, implement, and operate large-scale DNS platforms, configuration management systems and real-time system status APIs. Our team focuses on the availability and scalability of our Internet-scale DNS services. We build and operate systems that are critical in powering the platforms that Amazon's global retail, AWS and many other services rely upon.

We work on deep, technical problems that span a variety of core topics in computer science ranging from databases to networking, distributed systems, security, and CI/CD. We are looking for a talented System Development Engineer who feels strongly about designing great systems and operating those systems in the real world.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
- Experience tools for automation (building, testing, releasing or monitoring)
- 1+ years of non-internship professional system engineering experience
- 1+ years of experience with common scripting or programming languages such as Python, BASH, or Perl
- Knowledge of Networking, Linux administration, and Systems design fundamentals.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Knowledge of and proficiency in the use of Python scripting language
- Experience on highly concurrent, high throughput systems and knowledge of complex distributed systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
