As a Quality Assurance Manager at Amazon Ring, you will be an integral part of the Ring device engineering team, contributing to the product creation process. Your primary responsibility will be managing a team of QA engineers and developers, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities. You will also be responsible for development of our Image Quality laboratories, our outdoor test facility, leading the lab automation development, continuously assessing and improving our lab automation solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy and leading test automation development. As the team lead, you will guide the development of automated testing frameworks and tools, collaborating with QA and development teams to identify opportunities for test automation. You will also need project management skills to develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for lab automation and test automation initiatives.
This position requires an individual who can balance technical expertise with leadership skills, driving innovation in lab development and test automation while effectively managing a team and multiple projects.
Key job responsibilities
• Manage a team of QA engineers and developers.
• Drive lab automation and test automation development for Ring product testing.
• Collaborate closely with the Ring device engineering team throughout the product creation lifecycle.
• Ensure that image quality aligns with stringent product requirements.
• Manage thorough testing of Ring products, including video doorbells, surveillance cameras, alarms, sensors, and dashboard cameras.
• Manage and track defects, ensuring efficient issue resolution.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation in testing methodologies

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Masters or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or relevant work experience.
• Experience in testing or development role in lab development, test automation, or related fields, including 2 or more years of team leadership or management experience
• Strong knowledge of lab equipment, automation technologies, and testing methodologies
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Personal interest in camera technologies and image quality
• Proven experience in quality assurance testing, preferably in the consumer electronics or smart home industry.
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle and testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with testing tools and frameworks such as TestRail.
• Experience in both objective image quality testing in laboratory environment and subjective image quality evaluation in real world use cases.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Hands-on work attitude.
