Key job responsibilities
You’ll be utilizing your Generative AI, time series and predictive modeling skills, and creative problem-solving skills to drive new projects from ideation to implementation. You will lead efforts in foundational models to develop new approaches to Personalization, and provide opportunities for scientists and engineers to invent and implement scalable ML recommendations supporting new Customer Experiences. Your science expertise will be leveraged to research and deliver often novel solutions to existing problems, explore emerging problems spaces, and create or organize knowledge around them. You’ll publish papers and file patents. And you’ll work closely with engineers to put your ideas into production. You will participate in the Amazon ML community by authoring scientific papers and submitting them to ML conferences.

We are a team of dedicated Scientists, Engineers, and Designers working together to deliver new, personalized shopping experiences. In tailoring the shopping experience to each customer’s intent, we envision operating seamlessly across Amazon as a talented personal shopping assistant — a partner that is trusted, knowledgeable, and understands your unique preferences.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of building models for business application experience
- PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
- Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in professional software development

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $222,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
