The WHS Worldwide Ergonomics and Safety Experience (WESE) team is seeking an experienced Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) program manager to develop, implement, sustain, and improve Amazon’s HOP philosophy-based programs, policies and procedures.

Additionally, this role will conduct research to continuously improve Amazon’s HOP program with a focus on meeting current and future needs, evaluate current programs for gaps in effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement, and be involved in designing and deploying Amazon’s global HOP implementation strategy.

The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of HOP principles and best practices, will have experience integrating HOP programs into operations, and will have successfully deployed sustainable HOP programs in the field.


Key job responsibilities
• Strategy and Program Development: Use HOP methodologies and industry best practices to develop highly effective HOP programs tailored to the unique needs of the organization
• Program Deployment: Lead the integration and implementation of Amazon’s HOP program, procedures and trainings in the field
• Communication and Engagement: Drive awareness and create HOP fluency through effective communication and learning strategies, ensuring high levels of leadership and associate engagement and participation in HOP
• Project Management: Manage projects within defined timelines and budgets, anticipate project risks and proactively propose mitigation strategies, and communicate project updates to leadership
• Stakeholder Management & Collaboration: Collaborate with various cross-functionals teams including engineering, operations, and vendor partners to drive alignment, adoption, project milestones and deliverables
• Measurement: Define objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards and success measures to guide implementation and monitor progress
• Thought Leadership: Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and advancements in the field, and leverage this knowledge to drive innovative solutions and continuous improvement

About the team

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Environmental Safety & Health, Organizational Psychology or a similar field
- Experience and expertise in Human Performance or Resiliency Engineering
- At least seven years in safety leadership roles, including three or more years HOP experience
- Proven track record of driving Safety performance and cultural transformation
- Experience driving alignment with cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed environment
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing multiple initiatives simultaneously within established timelines
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is the norm

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master’s degree in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Environmental Safety & Health, or a similar field
- A certification in Human Performance Improvement (HPI) and/or Human Factors and Organizational Behavior or Organizational Design
- Continuous Improvement certification (LEAN, Six Sigma or other) or similar certification
- PMP Certification or familiarity with project management principles
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems on a broad scale
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels and manage relationships.
- Creativity and curiosity, with a solutions-based mentality

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
