Software Development Engineer, AWS Region Services

Job ID: 2946392 | Amazon Web Services, Inc.

DESCRIPTION

We are hiring Software Development Engineers for several teams within AWS Region Services. Our teams work on the tooling that helps leaders with insights about AWS services and regions around the globe.

AWS Region Services teams have the opportunity to work on highly visible projects that directly impact hundreds of other teams at Amazon.

We need developers who move fast, are capable of breaking down and solving complex problems, and have a strong will to get things done. Developers at Amazon work on real world problems on a global scale, own their systems end to end and influence the direction of our technology that impacts hundreds of millions customers around the world.

By working together on behalf of our customers, we are building the future one innovative product, service, and idea at a time. Are you ready to embrace the challenge? Come build the future with us.

About our Software Development Engineers:

Our engineers use AWS technologies to build cloud-native data solutions that process telemetry data from across all AWS, allowing teams to efficiently operate their services across multiple regions. As part of our team, you’ll be challenged to think outside the box and not only meet the needs of our customers today, but also analyze data to predict and create what they’ll need in the future. You’ll have the opportunity to tackle big technical problems and push the boundaries on what’s possible for cloud computing.

In this role you will:
- Work closely with and lead software engineers to deliver features in support of service teams.
- Collaborate closely with site reliability engineers, front-end engineers, technical program managers and other roles across AWS to build highly available services.
- Work in support of all Amazonians building, deploying and operating their services consistently across all AWS regions according to AWS operational excellence best practices.
- Be challenged to Invent and Simplify to improve existing services for performance, cost, reliability, recoverability and security.

When you’re ready, you will have on-call responsibilities, typically for one week every two months. No one likes getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work hard to ensure that our systems are fault tolerant and resilient. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause of the issue so that we never get paged for the same issue twice.

This position requires that the selected candidate be a United States Citizen. The candidate selected must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance up to the TS/SCI with polygraph level.
