Amazon QuickSight powers data-driven organizations with unified business intelligence (BI) at hyperscale. With Amazon Q in QuickSight, business analysts and business users can use natural language to build, discover, and share meaningful insights in seconds, turning insights into impact faster. Next, we are bringing together new Q Business Generative AI capabilities inside of QuickSight to make it the most compelling experience for business users.
In this role with Amazon Q in QuickSight, you will enhance and build new foundational components and user experiences to enable integrating generative AI capabilities with existing features for business users. This role offers wide scope, autonomy, and ownership. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical and leadership experience to work with team of stellar engineers to drive multi-year design and architecture decisions. Frontend Engineers at Amazon partner with the customers, stakeholders, product managers and UX designers to define and execute the product goals. You challenge yourself and others to constantly come up with better solutions. You're a thought leader, but you don't just know how to solve the problem, you prove it by building the solution. Last but not the least; you have a high bar for code quality and passion for design and architecture.
AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
Key job responsibilities
- Help define front end architectures, own and implement specific components, and help shape the overall user experience
- Contributing to defining best practices for front end development
- Collaborate with UX Designers and Product Managers
- Contribute to planning, design, implementation, testing, operations, and process improvement as a member of an autonomous team
- Write high-quality, efficient, testable code
- Mentor and support the growth of other developers

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience
- 1+ years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis) experience
- Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as angular and react
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node
- 1+ years of agile software development methodology experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
