DESCRIPTION

We’re seeking a high-judgement, self-motivated, and detail-oriented communications professional to support internal communications for the Amazon Devices & Services (D&S) business. This individual will manage a variety of internal communications—including written/visual content for our internal news site, large- and small-scale internal events, and other tactics—in support of new product launches as well as team culture and vision.

The ideal candidate will be a good writer and editor with experience identifying and crafting stories that resonate with employees and someone adept at making tech-focused stories relevant to a broad cross-section of employees. This individual will collaborate closely with PR, HR and other internal comms teams to develop innovative internal communication programs and clever tactics that focus on informing and engaging global audiences. This candidate must have the ability to flex when needed, collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and navigate a large-scale, complex business to deliver the most important information to employees. They’ll also bring creativity to the role, thinking big about content that will earn employee attention and encourage them to be ambassadors for the business.


Key job responsibilities
- Work across the Devices & Services team to source content that feeds into an editorial calendar that you own
- Drive a content calendar and write/produce related content (articles, videos, etc.) that anchors on priority initiatives and promotes positive D&S culture
- Collaborate closely with other internal communications teams and HR partners to keep D&S news top of mind for Amazonians broadly
- Measure and report on outcomes and recommend adjustments, as needed
- Coordinate closely with executive communications, owned storytelling and social teams to deliver relevant content across internal channels
- Assist with planning and execution of global internal events like team all-hands and leadership roundtables

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements and measure impact
- Exemplary written and oral communications skills
- Experience building, executing, and scaling cross-functional communication plans

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working with HR and consumer tech organizations
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Equally comfortable producing stories, from concept to final deliverable, solo or as a part of a team
- Experience balancing multiple projects – short and long-term – and delivering on deadline every time
- Attention to detail and communication skills
- Ability to exercise high judgment in narrow time-frames

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $68,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $147,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
