Software Development Engineer III, Release Manager
DESCRIPTION
he Release Manager (RM) team, part of Amazon's BuilderWorks organization, is responsible for developing technologies that enable Amazon software application teams to dynamically change software configurations and behaviors safely and quickly with minimal operational disruption.

Our team is growing and we are looking for a talented Sr Software Development Engineer (SDE3) to serve as the technical leader for this group.
Key job responsibilities
As a senior engineer, you are the technical lead and responsible for the full development lifecycle. You will provide design reviews for other engineers, including feedback on architecture and design issues, as well as integration, performance and scalability. You will design, implement, and maintain a highly-available, fault-tolerant, and distributed safe change management system. This system codifies lifecycle best practices for non-code business artifacts including configuration, metadata, and data. Your work will be highly visible and leveraged by teams as diverse as Alexa, Kindle, Twitch, ordering, fulfillment, and the retail website.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary for this position ranges from $150,700/year up to $251,700/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
