Principal Engineer, Ring Emerging Product Team
DESCRIPTION
The Ring AI team is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to lead the development of Computer Vision (CV) / Machine Learning (ML) Edge SW and Research Infrastructure. In this role, you will be the leader of our passionate, talented, and inventive scientists, to develop industry-leading CV and ML systems.
You will provide thought leadership to engineers to help design our CV/ML systems. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience productizing computer vision systems.
As a Principal Software Engineer, you bring structure to ambiguous business problems and use science, logic, and practical experience to decompose them into straightforward, scalable solutions. You set the standard for scientific excellence and make decisions that affect the way we build and integrate algorithms. Your solutions are exemplary in terms of system design, clarity, efficiency, and extensibility. You tackle intrinsically hard problems; you're interested in learning; and you acquire skills and expertise as needed.
The ideal candidate is a strong, creative and highly-motivated Engineer with hands-on experience in leading multiple research and engineering initiatives. You balance technical leadership with strong business judgment to make the right decisions about technology, tools, and methodologies.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
BS degree in Computer Science, or related areas.
10+ years of working experience in industry
5+ years of mentoring engineers
5+ years of working experience in developing CVML product system
5+ years of software development experience using one programming language such as C++, Python, Java
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Masters/PhD degree in Computer Vision/Machine Learning
Experienced in shipping edge and large backend systems
Previous experience with shipping Computer Vision/Machine Learning systems
3+ years of CVML production system architecture design experience.
