At Amazon, customer security is our highest priority. We are looking for passionate, innovative, and results-oriented engineers to join our security automation team. The team mission is to enable security practitioners to more effectively identify potential risks across Amazon’s immense infrastructure before they are a problem.

Key job responsibilities
You will be working with a team made up of Security Engineers, where you will be able to quickly put your skills to use in designing and implementing security solutions. We are focused on building and scaling first- and third-party tooling to identify internal security risks at scale. Working within the team, you'll be responsible for:
- Querying, analyzing and reporting on large security-relevant data sets
- Building and operating automated security scanners
- Performing vulnerability and impact assessments to continuously inform the team's development roadmap

About the team
You will be working with a team made up of Security Engineers, where you will be able to quickly put your skills to use in designing and implementing security solutions. Working within the team, you'll be responsible for querying, analyzing and reporting on large security-relevant data sets, building and operating automated security scanners, and performing vulnerability and impact assessments to continuously inform the team's development roadmap.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 3+ years of programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar object oriented language experience
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP
- 3+ years of any combination of the following: threat modeling experience, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with AWS products and services
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C++
- Knowledge of configuration management systems, such as: Puppet, Chef, Ansible, AWS CDK, or related systems
- Experience automating security processes
- Knowledge of CI/CD best practices for secure deployments
- Strong, proven knowledge of web protocols, common attacks scenarios, and Linux/Unix tools and architecture
- Understanding and experience with implementation of best practices across multiple security disciplines/domains
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic environment
- Have a passion for automation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
