Amazon Prime’s Science organization leads the Research & Development towards innovation for Amazon Prime. Amazon Prime is the backbone of Amazon’s consumer business and aspires to be the world’s most engaging, satisfying, and loved membership program, driving growth and profitability. The program serves over 200 million members across 25 countries and is key to Amazon’s customer growth and engagement.

To lead Prime’s growth and impact through science and innovation, we are seeking a Sr. Technical Program Manager-Prime Science, to own and drive delivery for high-impact, science-driven programs and platforms, that will impact Prime and its customers worldwide.

This role is inherently cross-disciplinary. You will work closely with scientists in artificial intelligence and economics; engineering, both science-based and non-science; program and product managers from other teams; project management, design; finance; business development; and executive teams. This role will also work with country and regional teams to address opportunities worldwide. This role will have a proven track record in taking on end-to-end ownership in highly technical, data-driven tasks, and successfully providing strategic leadership and delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.

Key job responsibilities
- The Senior TPM role requires excellent leadership skills, strategic thinking, and strong technical expertise
- The ability to manage high-impact projects
- The ability to partner effectively across teams, with internal and external customers, to define end-to-end solutions for which science platforms and products are key enablers
- Deliver on science organization goals for Prime worldwide
- Partner closely with business, engineering, and science teams both within Prime and beyond to develop scalable, science-driven capabilities that serve Prime and partner businesses

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
