AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

The Manager, Partner Sales APJ role offers a unique opportunity to operate at scale across all markets Asia Pacific & Japan, and make meaningful change to an industry, which is ripe for transformation. The role blends high level visioning and detailed execution to deliver customer success.


Key job responsibilities
The APJ Partner Sales team helps accelerate the Partner business for AWS across Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ). We undertake detailed analyses of the business across different countries in APJ to track value levers and identify best practices, which is then used to design initiatives to accelerate our growth.

We are looking to hire exceptional candidates, who will own the development and execution of partner sales for our key GTM motions. The role will manage a team and will work to (a) identify the right partners for key workloads and customer usecases (a) build and drive APJ-wide sales plays working with internal teams and partners, (b) drive consistency in APJ-wide prospecting mechanisms, (c) scale up learnings from individual countries to entire region, (d) represent APJ in AWS world-wide forums and help resolve issues, (e) define and execute Partner-led sales motions to drive incremental revenue.

The candidate will have experience in operating scale programs and collaborative initiatives to meet a common business objective with a customer-obsessed approach. The individual should have a demonstrated ability to think long-term and analytically about business, product, and customer challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally. They will have experience in driving net new opportunities with and through partners. A keen sense of ownership, drive, and bias for action is a must.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Project management: to be able to execute a wide-ranging overall plan through assigned, monitorable tasks, and deliver results
- Relationship management: ability to build rapport and earn trust with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- Strategic thinking: to think strategically about business challenges, and create a compelling value proposition
- Experience in a direct sales or partner sales capacity and deep understanding of a sales cycle
- Strong communication and presentation skills: to articulate ideas to cross functional audiences


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Overall experience of 12+ years in technology sales / channel management / program management / business consulting or strategy, in technology context sales, or a mix of such experience
- Bachelor's or higher degree
- Proven track record of engaging senior-level internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work independently with limited guidance, once the objectives have been set, and overall direction has been aligned
- Willingness to travel to meet with partners, customers and internal stakeholders, attend events and support field teams on site
