Senior Manager Applied Science, Measurement, Ad Tech, and Data Science (MADS)

DESCRIPTION

We have an exciting opportunity to lead a team of scientists to research design, build and deploy methods to measure the relative contribution of disparate ad spending across products, channels and inventories. Examples of such solutions include media mix models (MMM) and multi-touch attribution (MTA). Our goal is to provide our advertisers with the information they need to optimally allocate their ad spending across products.

A day in the life
The team you will lead solves real-world problems by getting and analyzing large amounts of data, generate business insights and opportunities, design simulations and experiments, and develop statistical and ML models. The team is driven by business needs, which requires collaboration with other Scientists, Engineers, and Product Managers across the advertising organization. You will prepare written and verbal presentations to share insights to audiences of varying levels of technical sophistication.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years of applied ML experience in deploying ML solutions to customer facing products
• 3+ years hands-on experience leading multiple ML teams to design products that satisfy a customer need
• PhD in Computer Science, Statistics or related field (or requisite relevant experience)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Demonstrated track record of delivery for large, cross-functional projects with evolving requirements
- Excellent written and verbal technical communication with an ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
- Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $196,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $340,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
