Senior Financial Analyst, Prime Video Finance
DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join the US Prime Video TVOD Business Finance team, an exciting opportunity to use analytical insights to work directly with business leaders to shape Prime Video’s entertainment strategy.
Prime Video offers customers the greatest choice in what to watch including Amazon Original hits like The Boys and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, 3P Channel subscriptions like Paramount+ and Showtime, live events like Thursday Night Football games, and a large catalog of transactional (rent or buy) content (TVOD) and advertising-supported content (AVOD). The Prime Video team comprises individuals who are all obsessively focused on one mission: to give consumers the world’s best-in-class digital video customer experience. Prime Video delivers an entertainment destination unlike any other—fast, reliable, personal, effortless, and delightful.
This position plays a critical role in Prime Video, as the finance partner for our Transactional Video On Demand (TVOD) business team, i.e. the business specific to purchases and rentals of movies and TV shows through Prime Video. This requires the ability to work cross-functionally and develop new solutions as the business continues to change and grow.
The successful candidate will have shown experience in past roles influencing business owners and supporting decision making in rapidly evolving environments. This role requires a self-starter who is comfortable working in an ambiguous environment with strong data gathering and modeling skills. The role also has regular interaction with various business leaders and therefore requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Key job responsibilities
- Manage the financial planning, analysis, and reporting of various performance metrics and identify risks and opportunities in support of the TVOD business teams and finance leadership
- Develop new performance metrics and improve existing processes to drive insight, accountability, and control
- Partner with various stakeholders (including partners from other business and finance teams) to build financial models that evaluate new opportunities and strategic initiatives
- Influence business decisions through effective verbal and written communication, data driven analysis and modeling, and presentation of alternatives
A day in the life
As the direct Finance partner to the Prime Video TVOD business teams, this role is responsible for providing reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis for the TVOD segment. The position plays a critical role in supporting business and finance leadership decisions through comprehensive financial modeling, analytical insights, and strategic recommendations aimed at driving TVOD's performance. Additionally, this role partners with cross-functional teams, including Product, Marketing, and Content Acquisition, to provide analytical support and financial modeling for strategic initiatives that drive business growth and success.
