Sr. Product Manager - Tech, Defensive Security Solutions (DSS)
DESCRIPTION

If so, this Product Management - Technical (PMT) role is the one for you!
The Defensive Security Solutions (DSS) organization is looking for a tenured PMT to join our growing team of security engineers, software engineers, and scientists. This PMT will shape the future vision of our Vulnerability Management and security scanning capabilities for the longer term. They will work across three 50-person plus engineering organizations, and partner with over 5 security engineering organizations. They will developed a product strategy and roadmap for internal Tier-1 tools that improve Incident Response, vulnerability management, and host/container scanning solutions for Amazon. In addition to this, they will become a pioneer in A.I. based product development in the cyber security space; conceiving Think Big opportunities to change how security teams manage security findings at scale.
The vision for the PMT in this role is to define what we are calling the “vulnerability management control plane” - an operations console that enables Defensive Security teams to managed security findings across Amazon’s compute infrastructure. Successful PMT’s in this role will build strong relationships with partners that focus on the builder experience, as well as security teams across several Amazon Business Units.
Key job responsibilities
- Maintaining high executive presence as part of vocal/written communications in Amazon Security business reviews.
- Defining product vision, 3-year plans, and yearly strategy planning documents. These artifacts will articulate a solution/strategy for enabling Incident Command, Incident Response, Vulnerability Discovery, Vulnerability Assessment, and security team onboarding.
- Partnering with executives to ensure high transparency on the visibility/security status of assets under the care of Defensive Security.
- Working alongside peer Principal Software Engineers, Principal Security Engineers, and Principal Product Managers to create and deliver on the product visions they create.
- Defining business and value proposition models that solve security team pain-points, and big rocks.
- Drive innovative thinking in security process and product development.
- Campaign, roadshow, and align Amazon security teams to the solutions developed by their engineering teams.
- Define and continuously improve KPIs, KCI’s, OKRs, and/or executive team goals.
A day in the life
Each day you will work with your leadership, partners, stakeholders, and peers to develop business requirements, align customers to solutions, and drive development teams to innovate on behalf of customers.
To achieve this you can expect your day to have various meetings to Dive Deep with customers and projects, followed by dedicate time to create new proposals and documents for engineer teams and leadership to act on.
About the team
DSS is 50+ person organization comprised of both software and security engineers who are driving the mission to secure Amazon SDO's compute footprint.
You will work broadly across this organization to develop help the scanning team improve their offering, the tooling team make our security engineers more efficient, and our security teams to make Amazon more secure.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience managing technical products or online services
- Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of engineering, product management, or other relevant experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight
- Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools
