Principal Finance Manager, GMAC FP&A Reporting
DESCRIPTION
Amazon.com is seeking a Principal Finance Manager to support the GMAC – Global Media, Advertising, and CorpDev FP&A (GMAC), Financial Planning and Analysis team. In partnership with business, operations, and technology teams throughout Amazon, this position will drive strategic initiatives to improve financial reporting efficiency and customer experience through automation, process improvements, and defects prevention. This role will engage with executive leadership and cross functional teams to drive results.
Primary responsibilities will include driving planning and budgeting discipline and deliverables, and ensuring financial discipline and compliance.
The successful candidate will have the ability to tackle multiple projects and efficiently execute deliverables. The right individual will have strong leadership skills and solid business acumen capable of driving results and improving processes. He or she will have operated successfully in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment.
The successful candidate must be able to think and act both strategically and tactically. Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope technical requirements and prioritize.
Key job responsibilities
- Interact with stakeholders at multiple levels and lead teams to define and deliver solutions.
- Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical and process constraints.
- Foster constructive and proactive communication across organizational boundaries.
- Identify, assess, track, and mitigate issues and risks at multiple levels.
- Create, maintain, and disseminate project status, roadmaps, and documentation to stakeholders.
- Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple groups with competing priorities.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 7+ years of finance technology, forecast & budgeting, or other finance-focused competency experience
- Experience with Tableau, Python, SQB, Quicksight, Cognos or or other BI packages
- Experience working cross-functionally with a wide breadth of stakeholders, users, engineers, and leaders to generate buy-in
- Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MBA, or CPA
- Experience in a leadership position managing finance, accounting and operational processes
- Experience building and leading in a complex finance team through a mixed finance skill set (commercial finance, accounting, FP&A, audit, operations)
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $125,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
