We are looking for an experienced Principal Product Manager-Technical to join our New Initiatives team. This person will be responsible for identifying opportunities to leverage our proven computer vision solutions for new Visual Reasoning applications, define user problems to be solved, vertical opportunities, and drive the business case for investment to senior AWS Solutions leadership. This person will work closely with cross-functional research scientists, engineers, sales, and marketing teams to develop multi-year product roadmaps that deliver new business within AWS Solutions.


Key job responsibilities
-Build strong relationships with customers to deeply understand their needs and pain points
-Define and drive compelling business cases for new computer vision solutions within AWS Solutions
-Guide product strategy and development of Visual Reasoning solutions from conception to launch
-Foster collaboration between research scientists, engineers, sales, and marketing teams to drive product development
-Translate complex technical capabilities into clear value propositions and go-to-market strategies
-Mentor and collaborate with other product managers to ensure successful execution of initiatives

A day in the life
Your day begins by engaging with customers to uncover opportunities for computer vision applications. You'll work backwards from diverse stakeholders to articulate customer problems and value propositions. Partnering with technical teams, you'll develop solutions to address these challenges. You'll tackle ambiguous problems, requiring broad thinking and high ownership. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be key as you refine product strategies and roadmaps. In this startup-like environment, you'll lead brainstorming sessions, present to senior leadership, and analyze market data, all while balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution to transform innovative ideas into valuable products.

About the team
We are an innovative team within Just Walk Out (JWO) Technology, part of AWS Solutions, advancing computer vision technology and its real-world applications. Our stack leverages state-of-the-art computer vision, edge compute, and advanced machine learning to solve complex business challenges. As part of our New Initiatives group, we're exploring novel ways to leverage our proven capabilities beyond traditional retail applications. We operate with startup agility while having AWS's backing and resources, tackling ambitious problems that push technological boundaries. We're seeking innovative minds excited about defining the future of computer vision while maintaining high standards of technical excellence.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 6+ years of technical product or program management experience
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Bachelor's degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
- Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement
- MBA or advanced technical degree

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
