Key job responsibilities
- Define front-end and middle-tier architecture, own and implement specific components, and help shape the overall user experience.
- Create software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all team deliverables.
- Collaborate with UX Designers and Product Managers.
- Contribute to planning, design, implementation, testing, operations, and process improvement as a member of an autonomous team.
- Write high-quality, efficient, testable code.
- Mentor and support the growth of other developers.
- Opportunity to lead development efforts for large/complex projects.

A day in the life
- Located at Culver Studios with perks like Amazon MGM Studios “Employee Sneak Peak Screenings“.
- Work closely with Product, Design and other Engineering teams and deliver features for customers.
- Asynchronous standups and check-ins to reduce unnecessary meetings.
- Front-end Office Hours to bring topics and technical design docs, opening up opportunities to influence across teams.
- Two-week sprint cadence with demos, as well as a Monthly org-wide demo to showcase your work.
- Oncall rotation to support customer issues and to help improve operational excellence.

About the team
Our team’s mission is to empower programs in Amazon MGM Studios (AMS) to create and maintain business-essential applications on an internal Product Suite while reducing duplicative development effort and providing cross-cutting functionality. This team also works on specific Product Verticals in that space which focus on various business domains within AMS, such as managing essential information for all Amazon-owned and co-produced titles.

Our team supports two customer bases: engineering customers that utilize a micro-frontend framework our team built, and end-users of the Product Verticals. This gives engineers a unique opportunity to work across the full technology stack.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience
- 1+ years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis) experience
- Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as angular and react

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 3+ years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis) experience
- 4+ years of professional front end development experience
- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
- Knowledge of agile development and best coding practices including peer code reviews, and unit testing

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
