Finance Manager, IN Stores FP&A
DESCRIPTION
Amazon seeks a Finance Manager – Planning and Investor Relations (IR) in the FP&A team. The role requires both domain knowledge of Amazon FP&A processes as well as sound understanding of business drivers that impact short-term and long-term financial planning. The key stakeholders are India Business leadership, Finance leadership, and International FP&A. Key deliverables include:
(1) Investor Relations: Provide financial updates and support leadership reviews for India Consumer Business:
a. Be the first pair of eyes that compiles our forecast/financial plans, or often actual performance, review a complex cube of financials and extract a story or draft a commentary to engage senior leaders with the true health of our plans or actual trends. Build bridges and write commentary to shine light on the most important issues that leadership should focus on.
b. Support the backbone of our financial governance for the India business by providing the horsepower to run: (i) 3YF, OP1 & OP2 planning cycle reviews with India and international leadership; (ii) Support Quarterly Business Reviews or QBR with India and international leadership; and (iii) author Quarterly Performance bullets basis Quarterly Guidance to International FP&A for press release/IR
c. Be the spokesperson for the India team to handle specific queries from India leadership and International FP&A, speak on behalf of India leadership and sensitize leadership to issues flagged by our investors.
(2) India Planning:
a. Own end-to-end India planning process for the 3 core planning cycles (OP1/2, 3YF) and 3 guidance cycles including program management and communication with India and International FP&A stakeholders
b. Drive ‘Make planning simple’ program to simplify the India planning process through automation initiatives, eliminating papercuts and partnering with International FP&A to learn best practices and drive adoption of global ways of working in India.
This role has a vantage position in the cockpit tracking India Consumer Business financial performance and deals with complexity in terms of: (a) breadth of financial information that is required to be understood and processed (across multiple channels/ GLs), (b) interaction with a large set of cross functional finance teams, (c) building financial models which help analyze, provide insights and drive action amongst senior India leadership, (d) act as a first point of contact for queries from senior leadership.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
