Business Operations Manager, People Experience and Technology Central Science
DESCRIPTION
The Central Science Team within Amazon’s People Experience and Technology org (PXTCS) uses economics, behavioral science, statistics, and machine learning to proactively identify mechanisms and process improvements which simultaneously improve Amazon and the lives, well-being, and the value of work to Amazonians. We are an interdisciplinary team, which combines the talents of science and engineering to develop and deliver solutions that measurably achieve this goal.
We are looking for a Business Operations Manager to manage, and drive continuous improvement of mechanisms that optimize productivity, efficiency, and data-based decision management. The Business Operations Manager will own a number of key programs that include team metrics, monthly results reporting, goal setting, budget and resource planning and tracking, and annual operational planning (OP). This person will also own new programs and the development of new systems that support the business. Most importantly, this person will develop new or improve existing standards, guidelines, and tools, simplify processes, and drive deliverables that help the organization operate efficiently.

Key job responsibilities
• Operations Management: Operationalize organizational strategies, enabling the team to achieve business goals. Manage the annual business cycle for strategic and financial planning and quarterly and monthly reporting. Includes managing and coordinating the deliverable preparation with team leads.
• Metrics and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and present data. Develop and maintain metrics and reports that assist in managing business operations. This includes WBR metrics, defect reduction, and financial metrics (headcount, budget) that will measure success in meeting operational and project goals. Develop reports that monitors progress against goals and objectives and project execution and delivery.
• Operational Excellence: Establish and manage regular operational reviews and performance dashboards. Includes coordinating with the necessary stakeholders, ensuring information is relevant, accurate, easy to consume, and identifies improvement opportunities. Drive operational improvements that create a more efficient organization.
• Project Management: Maintain project plans, identify resource needs, and manage project schedules. Collaborate effectively across teams to define strategy, goals, and commitment to timelines and deliverables.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
