Audio/Sensor Lab Engineer, Audio and Data Technology
DESCRIPTION
The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated Lab Engineer to join our Devices team. The ideal candidate will be flexible, detail-oriented, and skilled at working with internal customers (Software, Science, Product teams) driving data collection and infrastructure development.
As Lab Engineer on the Data Collection team, you will champion the quality and efficiency of data collection for the organization, implementing and executing on large scale data collection, ensuring deliverables meet and exceed customer expectations.
Key job responsibilities:
- Work with software and science teams to create data collection plans and test cases.
- Running test cases on devices – such as executing use case scenario based testing
- Write, read, run, and develop test scripts in collaboration with developer teams in Python.
- Execute test cases, interpret, and report testing results, and be a vocal proponent for quality in every phase of the development process
- Find, isolate, document, regress, and track bugs through resolution. Able to debug and restore data collection systems.
- Support projects including setup and verification of all system components, trouble-shooting during set-up and live sessions, and ensure integrity and upload, metrics reporting tasks and processes, and document best practices
- Provide technical support to the field operation or vendor teams
- Apply knowledge of wireless and networking technologies, mobile devices, and quality assurance practices to ensure that connected devices meet all target requirements
- Gaining knowledge of the features and detailed functional requirements to execute your assigned tests
- Work onsite 5 days per week
- Lift up to 25lbs when needed
- Effective written communicator, this role will include working with international teams.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Python coding
- Experience with writing the test plans, use cases, and issue reports
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Acoustics measurement and signal processing
- Experience working in a linux environment
- Matlab, Bash, or other coding/scripting experience
- Experience testing in a Consumer Electronics lab or field environment
- Effective written communication skills
- Able to problem solve and operate independently

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $73,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $165,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
