Sensor Engineer Intern

Key job responsibilities
The Sensor Engineer intern works closely with teams located in both the US and China throughout the design cycle. As a member of the team, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to drive the factory / bench testing and validation of sensor sub-systems in products. In this role, you will:
• Review & generate factory test plans and reports.
• Review factory test fixture DFM.
• Understand & address some aspects of sensor readiness in factory for builds.
• Dive into sensor testing issues at the build.
• Characterize sensor sub-system performances in lab.
• Review and suggest sensor design optimization.
• Travel domestically to Contract Manufacturer site as needed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Speak, write, and read fluently in Mandarin
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English
- Enrolled in a pre-final year of Bachelor's or above degree program in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Can do a minimum 3-month internship
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated critical thinking capability
- Self-motivated and proactive
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Enrolled in a Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Previous work or internship experience.
- Experience with sensors characterization and familiarity with electrical/optical/mechanical testing equipment such as optical power meters, inclinometer, goniometers, linear/rotation stages etc.
- Familiarity with sensor technologies (Optical, Inertial, Environmental).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes &/or consumer electronics prototype builds in Asia.
- Knowledge of production process qualification, measurement, and analysis.
- Past experience or coursework with statistical analysis and processing tools such as JMP, Python or Minitab.
