Sr. Partnership Manager (Payments), Amazon Payments
DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced Senior Partnership Manager to join Amazon Payments Team and lead our bank and fintech partnership initiatives. This is a crucial role for improving the payment experience for customers shopping on Amazon.za through strategic partnerships with banks and financial institutions.
Key job responsibilities
1. Develop and execute partnership strategies with banks, financial institutions, and payment service providers to enhance Amazon.za's payment offerings.
Secure, sign-up, and manage working relationships with partners such as acquirers, issuers, schemes, Alternative Payment Methods (APMs), and Third Party Providers (TPPs).
2. Negotiate and finalize business contracts with banking partners, ensuring favorable terms for Amazon.za.
3. Drive Service Level Agreements (SLAs) through partners to maintain high standards of service quality and customer satisfaction.
4. Collaborate with internal teams (Product, Tech, Legal, Finance) to align partnership goals with overall business objectives.
5. Monitor and analyze partnership performance, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
6. Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies in the fintech and payments space.
7. Represent Amazon.za at industry events and conferences to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 2. 7+ years of experience in partnership management, preferably in the banking, fintech, or e-commerce sectors.
- Proven track record of successfully negotiating and managing complex business contracts with banks and financial institutions.
- 3. Strong understanding of payment ecosystems, including traditional banking, alternative payment methods, and emerging fintech solutions.
- 4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of an organization.
- 5. Demonstrated ability to drive results through partners and manage SLAs effectively.
- 6. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- 7. Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
