Sr. Technical Program Manager, Regulatory Specialist, AWS Security Assurance

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a highly motivated Technical Program Manager to join our regulatory operations team. As part of the team, you will own the strategy, design and operation of key mechanisms, processes and programs enabling our team to effectively track, manage and respond to our global regulatory and compliance obligations at scale.

Our team solves complex security, regulatory, and compliance challenges, dives deep into requirements for both AWS and our customers, improves processes, and drives greater efficiencies in meeting expectations. This role facilitates our ability to grow and scale our processes and mechanisms to meet the compliance and regulatory expectations in the global market.

You should be an experienced TPM with ability to understand IT and compliance processes, quickly triage and respond to incoming issues, evaluate opportunities for improvement, and drive innovative mechanisms across multiple teams/programs. You will join a diverse team of regulatory and compliance specialists, technologists, and security experts, and other vital roles. You will collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for security and compliance and you will experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.


Key job responsibilities
You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non-technical leaders.

You will execute and drive the program/project delivery, execution, and adoption across multiple organizations and teams.

You will develop technical mechanisms to help automate and scale the mechanisms we use to meet regulatory and compliance obligations.

You will collaborate with program stakeholders in multiple business and technical teams to define and deliver on agreed upon milestones.

You will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation to management, anticipate and make tradeoffs.

You will build and maintain integrated reporting for areas of responsibility

You will evaluate the efficacy of regulatory program activities and lead improvements to enable delivery at scale.

You will set and embody team culture and the quality bar, driving cross-team alignment by negotiating and resolving conflict smoothly.

You will manage emergent tasks against multiple shifting priorities, mitigating risks, and eliminating blockers.

You will operate a quality rhythm of the business, continuously coordinating and driving adoption of improvement efforts to manage regulatory expectations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
- Subject matter expertise in security, regulations applicable to cloud services or similar technology businesses, and compliance activities

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
