Senior Finance Manager, Transportation Controllership
DESCRIPTION
Transportation Controllership in Finance is one of the most challenging and exciting spaces to work for, with new geographies, modes and carriers being launched every day and being required to seamlessly integrate with the Transportation technical systems for automatic Ingestion of Freight invoices, thorough auditing, timely payment and for proper accounting to keep our books clean and accurate.

Key job responsibilities
This Senior Finance Manager role is the face of our MEC organization with our technology partners, Business and Finance partners and is responsible for four things:
- Oversee the integrity, governance, accuracy, and timeliness of Transportation Financial Reporting to ensure Global Statutory reporting (SOX) compliance
- Lead the development of strategic financial analysis and network optimization models to achieve strategic transportation objectives
- Drive risk intelligence culture through adoption of robust control frameworks
- Interact with executive leaders across business, accounting, and finance teams to drive global alignment across Accounting, Amazon Transportation Finance (ATS), Procurement, Transportation Finance Systems (TFS)
Tight financial controls and adherence to company policies is required involving a high level of operational discipline and collaboration with internal and external teams. Specific focus areas that help this leader be successful are influencing our business and tech partners, establishing a structure to drive multiple transportation programs and developing a highly productive team. This leader sets the strategic direction for the team and creates and maintains a culture that will help them own, automate and be effective in their day to day work with little or no oversight.

- Demonstrated experience in change management, strategic planning, and/or project management preferred.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science)
- 10+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 8+ years of finance experience
- 5+ years of direct management experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- 8+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 8+ years of mentoring junior finance and/or business team members experience
- 5+ years of working with senior staff (e.g. c-suite) experience
- MBA and/or Professional certification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or CPA)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $137,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $227,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
