DESCRIPTION

The Regulatory Intelligence, Safety and Compliance (RISC) team protects Amazon customers from products that are illegal, illegally marketed, unsafe, or otherwise prohibited by Amazon policies. We are seeking a new team member to contribute to Amazon's product safety and compliance program, to maximize lawful selection and customer trust while minimizing unlawful selection, product risk and negative value actions on customer trust.

As a Policy Specialist, you will be partnering with different legal and business teams to understand regulatory requirements and translate that into actionable requirements for program, tech, and operational teams. You'll analyze emerging regulatory trends, develop policies, and work with the program team to implement these effectively. Your expertise will be key in ensuring regulatory compliance, managing and mitigating risks, and aligning our practices with business goals.

Key job responsibilities
• Partner effectively with Legal teams to monitor regulatory developments in US and Canada, and integrate legal and compliance risk analysis in support of key policy decisions
• Translate legal goals into requirements for develop and manage compliance controls for program, tech, and operational teams
• Perform legal research into a variety of complex federal, state, and local regulations.
• Support legal teams for engagement with Regulators and reporting
• Make high-judgement risk-based decisions regarding policies related to regulatory compliance in order to meet regulatory obligations
• Handle complex regulatory policy related Business and Operational escalations, and provide guidance backed by data driven research
• Engage directly with selling partners to improve product compliance and address concerns
• Perform analysis of data from a variety of sources to identify possible risk indicators to support policy decisions
• Analyze data and metrics to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience handling confidential information

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with SQL and Excel
- Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles/Six Sigma methodologies to drive quality audits, process improvements or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
