Senior Product Manager - Technical, AWS Fintech

AWS Fintech team is looking for a highly motivated Senior Product Manager to partner with our software development teams in building out financial systems for the global AWS business. The success of these systems will be instrumental to AWS’ ability to scale finance capabilities for a fast growing and increasingly complex global business.

This position will play an integral role in ensuring the systems are accurate and support the right financial and business analysis for the global finance organization. This role will support and enable the development and automation of complex reporting and analysis that deliver actionable insights for entire AWS.

This position requires a proactive, highly motivated individual with an aptitude for customer focus and critical thinking and who can initiate and manage strategic system development with global teams. This person will be expected to take ownership and drive positive change. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity, is analytical, detail oriented and possesses the ability to work well with cross-functional teams including world-wide AWS, finance, and software development teams.

Primary responsibilities for these custom finance systems include:
- Developing and driving product vision and strategy in alignment with the AWS Finance technology vision
- Ensuring that standardization, automation, scalability, and agility are components of the systems and tools
- Identifying business and technical requirements, including customer experience improvements, and prioritizing requests for software development teams
- Ensure appropriate coordination and communication with relevant business and cross functional stakeholders
- Providing analytical support, including prototypes and proofs of concept, for AWS software development teams
- Managing Fintech products throughout the product life cycle
- Deep dive and analyze key finance KPIs and business performance metrics, identify gaps and define measurement frameworks to support actionable insights
- Assess tech design strategies, and determine design approaches / tradeoffs in the product development strategy.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree
- 7+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- Experience identifying business opportunities and building a product
- Strong leadership, project planning and execution skills
- Proven ability to think strategically and influence stakeholders to deliver a multi-year roadmap
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience contributing to discussions on technology decisions and strategy of a product
- Experience managing technical products or online services
- Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- MBA or Master’s in a related field
- Financial statement (P&L, Balance Sheet, or Cash Flow) management experience
- Experience in developing financial software
- Capacity to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A proven track record of delivering results on time and building trust with internal and external stakeholders
- Capacity to work independently in a rapidly changing environment
- Knowledge of technology trends and how they impact the product roadmap
- Understand technical challenges to drive well-informed trade-offs with the development team

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
