Amazon is seeking a highly analytical, meticulous, and forward-thinking Sr. Financial Analyst to become a key member of its Center of Statutory Accounting Support based in Bratislava. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with Amazon corporate accounting teams across EMEA to ensure high-quality and timely deliverables in the statutory and financial compliance space.


Key job responsibilities
• Prepare deliverables to support financial reporting needs, including statutory close support, analytics, and supplementary financial analysis;
• Support corporate accounting teams across EMEA in preparing statutory financial statements;
• Collaborate closely with business partners across EMEA, and globally, to maintain efficient and compliant accounting processes;
• Identify and drive process improvements;
• Partner with Accounting and Technology teams to drive standardization and automation globally.


A day in the life
Your days are dynamic and varied.

Month-start brings a flurry of statutory accounting tasks, where you'll collaborate with your team to tackle complex issues.

Once the critical close period ends, you'll shift gears to exciting automation and process improvement projects. You'll brainstorm with global team members from FOAA, Central Accounting, and FinOps to devise innovative solutions that streamline operations and enhance efficiency. Each day presents a unique blend of analytical problem-solving and creative thinking, ensuring your work remains challenging and engaging.

You'll close each day by planning for tomorrow, ready for whatever new opportunities arise.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• University degree in business/economics/accounting;
• Experience with IFRS or US GAAP accounting and in the preparation of financial statements;
• Experience in a multinational corporation;
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written in English;
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• CPA, ACCA, or similar credentials;
• Knowledge of Oracle Financial Applications;
• Experience in using SQL;
• Project management skills;
• Additional language skills, such as German, French, Italian, Spanish or Turkish;



Base pay for this position starts from EUR 26000 gross per month and salary depends on the skills and requirements, there will be further pay components such as a sign on bonus and the eligibility to participate in a restricted stock unit scheme operated independently by Amazon.com Inc. in USA.
