DESCRIPTION
Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
The International Indirect Tax (ITX) Compliance Alignment role is critical in supporting Project Kuiper's global expansion, ensuring compliance and maximum efficiency from day one. Working closely with business, technology, finance, tax, accounting, and legal teams, this position focuses on building and maintaining expertise in indirect tax compliance alignment across six primary areas. These encompass conducting gap analyses between ITX requirements and systems capabilities, monitoring and validating system processes, tracking the implementation of ITX requirements, developing data management and reconciliation strategies, creating comprehensive audit trails and documentation, and driving continuous improvement. The role involves ensuring global expansion compliance with indirect tax regulations, supporting registration, configuring tax codes for the supply chain, and building a comprehensive knowledge repository about supply chain alignment with tax requirements. This position is crucial in standardizing and optimizing alignment processes for new business launches while proposing strategies to enhance system-requirement concordance and improve overall efficiency.

- Requirements-Systems Alignment: Conduct gap analysis between ITX requirements and systems capabilities, develop detailed mapping of tax requirements to system configurations, and validate system implementations against compliance mandates.
- Process Compliance Verification: Monitor system processes for accurate ITX requirement reflection, perform end-to-end alignment reviews, and document discrepancies between expected and actual system behaviors.
- Implementation Oversight: Track ITX requirement implementation, ensure accurate and compliant tax reports, and support UAT focusing on requirements-to-system alignment.
- Data Management and Tax Reconciliation: Implement robust data management strategies, ensure comprehensive tax data reconciliation across systems, resolve discrepancies, and maintain data quality control processes.
- Traceability and Documentation: Create audit trails documenting requirements implementation, develop detailed system configuration documentation, and formalize system deficiencies through BADIs or similar processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Develop frameworks to standardize alignment processes for new business launches, propose strategies to enhance system-requirement concordance, identify efficiency opportunities, and improve data management methodologies.
