Software Development Engineer, Commerce Platform ADC
DESCRIPTION
Would you like to implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve the world's most complex technical problems? Do you have a deep passion and desire to engineer and operate the world's largest cloud computing infrastructure to build a better world for future generations?
AWS established a specialized group of service teams responsible for the work we are doing in support of the U.S. Intelligence Community. We are building some of the largest distributed systems in the world, and we need adaptable people to help us implement and operate them.
AWS Commerce Platform is seeking a talented software development engineer to design and build innovative solutions to work in isolated environments. Countries and organizations around the world have varied and increasingly strict data protection needs. These requirements add complexity to operating our globally-distributed, massive-scale solution. We need your help designing and delivering game-changing solutions to facilitate changes to how we operate our platform.
This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
Key job responsibilities
You will provide software development support for a team of highly talented engineers that build and operate services that enable Commerce Platform (CP) to operate in isolated environments and enable customers to purchase AWS services while understanding and managing their cloud infrastructure costs.
Our engineering team support services running in air gapped regions that are often isolated from the public internet creating unique engineering challenges and opportunities for innovation. Our services enable AWS to bill and collect payments from customers even when operating in isolated regions.
The CP ADC Operations team provides support for the suite of Commerce Platform services operating in the ADC (air gapped) regions. Commerce Platform processes trillions of events per month from AWS services such as these to provide bill generation, payment processing, fraud prevention, customer usage, and analytics to both AWS customers and internal users. Because we sit at the nexus of all AWS services and interact directly with end-customers, we work closely with other AWS teams to ensure our customers are provided with a great experience.
