Finance Manager, AWS Sales Finance
DESCRIPTION
Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Finance Manager to be a key member in our AWS Sales Finance team, supporting the Automotive & Manufacturing industry.
This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the fastest growing divisions within Amazon. As a Finance Manager, you will work closely with Automotive & Manufacturing sales leaders to develop financial models and analytical insights to assist in evaluating new business concepts, turning insights into operational measurements, and identifying paths to improve the overall planning and forecasting process. You will also provide strategy support to the business partners.
The successful candidate will have shown experiences in past roles influencing business owners and supporting strategic decision-making in a rapidly evolving environments. This role requires a self-starter with strong modeling skills, a strong attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects effectively. This role also has regular interaction with executives and various business units across Amazon and therefore requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. In addition, this role requires strong business sense and capability to independently drive business partnership.
Key job responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Lead short- and long-term financial planning
- Build financial framework and models for new business ideas
- Provide strategic partnership to key business initiatives and investment
- Present financial summary and business insights to senior management
- Tighten internal controls for program spending and revenue accrual
About the team
AWS Industries Finance is part of the AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services Finance organization led by AWS Finance VP Danny Nelson. We support all of the teams under Kathrin Renz, VP AWS Industries, including Customer Sales Teams for Strategic Accounts and 6 Industry Verticals, Strategic Business Development, and Industry Products.
AWS Industries Finance's responsibilities include financial controllership, reporting, compliance, and business support to the AWS Industries organization.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
