Turkiye Consumer Lead, Project Kuiper

Project Kuiper is a long term multi-billion initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
We are looking for a talented Turkiye Consumer Lead. This role will be responsible for the commercial performance in Turkiye, including the country P&L. You will work with our Europe leadership team and will own efforts to develop go-to-market plans in Turkiye, establish partnerships and service provider relationships, and work across Amazon to launch Kuiper. This role will be based in our office in Istanbul.
The successful candidate will be both entrepreneurial and highly analytical, able to work extremely effectively in a matrix organization with teams across the globe, understand business and financial models for subscription services, and adept at understanding how telecommunications businesses work in Turkiye. We are looking for someone customer obsessed and technologically savvy, with a proven track record of leading new initiatives and managing a P&L. Knowledge of working in the telecommunications or IT services sectors in this region will be an advantage.
Key job responsibilities
• Develop consumer (B2C) GTM, business and economic models in alignment with Amazon’s strategy for the region
• Analyze and recommend service plans, solutions and models
• Hire and develop a local team
• Engage in business development efforts and contract negotiation in preparation for launch
• Partner with legal, tax and regulatory to develop country planning for partnerships and operations (incl. regulatory access)
• Deliver comprehensive, written strategy documents considering different types of data and inputs across a broad range of stakeholders
• Prepare a detailed business case for justification of new opportunities
• Once operational, meet business goals, performance objectives and deliver a fantastic customer experience
This position may require access to information, technology, or hardware that is subject to export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Employment in this position is contingent upon obtaining any required export licenses or other approvals from the United States government. As such, the successful candidate must be eligible to obtain any necessary export licenses or approvals based on their nationality, citizenship, and any other factors considered by the applicable export control regulations.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Leadership experience as a general manager, or leading a significant high-volume operations function
• Experience in managing business metrics or a strategic function, such as managing a P&L, revenue targets and/or customer satisfaction/loyalty
• Experience in consumer telecommunications (pay TV, phone or internet) or satellite services in Turkiye
• Undergraduate degree or related working experience
• Fluency in Turkish and English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Ability to freely travel internationally
• Experience in building and managing strategic partnerships
• Ability to succeed in an entrepreneurial and fast paced culture
• Understanding of telecommunications, internet and/or satellite technology
• Knowledge and familiarity with satellite or telecommunications regulatory process in Turkiye
• Able to apply high level analytical and creative problem-solving skills
