Senior Manager Workforce Staffing
DESCRIPTION
Amazon is seeking an operations--oriented leader to join our Workforce Staffing team. This role will focus on providing our candidates with the same amazing experience that our customers have come to expect from Amazon.com. As Head of WFS-Mexico, this role will focus on two main areas of high volume hiring: Candidate Supply/Labor Demand and Candidate Engagement.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytics background that enables him/her to manage quantitative planning and a demonstrated ability to think broadly and strategically about the talent supply chain. This individual will lead the analysis of labor supply and demand across a large geography composed of multiple Amazon business lines. He/she will collaborate with the centralized applicant sourcing, advertising, analytics, business operations and finance teams to deliver effective delivery of workforce strategies across different employee types.
On the Engagement side, this leader will focus on community engagement, candidate experience, labor market dynamics, process improvement, and labor strategy development. The individual will foster a collaborative team environment and a strong culture that ensures delivery of efficient, effective, candidate-focused hiring experiences and ensures their teams meet and exceed key performance indicators. They thrive in an innovative, fast-paced environment, can roll up their sleeves, work hard, have fun, and get the job done. The best candidates will draw on extensive knowledge of operations, community engagement, and talent supply chain management and be able to forge dynamic relationships with business partners. This role will be based in an Amazon corporate office.
Key job responsibilities
- Creates a vision, based upon data, for a team/business and develops scalable strategies that capture the best talent and most diverse candidates at the lowest cost
- Manages the analyses of daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of Workforce Staffing performance via Key Performance Indicators
- Builds labor acquisition strategy inclusive of employee class recommendations, labor pool utilization, talent pool conversion and other channel resources across different Amazon businesses
- Builds and manages country wide budget for high volume hiring and works with internal stakeholders to deliver results with frugality
- Understand and have involvement in Workforce Planning requirements. Ensure planning team is kept up to date with current labor supply, highlighting any concerns in a timely manner.
- Ensures compliance with Mexican legislation
- Full ownership and responsibility for ensuring compliance regarding Right to work in the Mexican legislation
- Monitor and ensure vendors meet agreed service level agreements
- Be responsible for production of metrics relating to staffing and the contingent workforce.
- Review and establish causes for unfavorable trends in the metrics, provide and implement root cause analysis and solutions
- Share findings and best practice with the wider WFS team
- Co-ordinate inductions between Operations, Finance, Agencies, Security and HR
- Monitor consistency with Employee Relations issues and decisions
- Oversee regular audits on quality of assessment and recruitment processes. Increase audits as appropriate.
A day in the life
Expected Deliverables:
- Management and ownership of cost per hire through oversight of labor, advertising and other talent acquisition costs
- Management of the talent supply chain utilizing lean methodology
- Management of candidate cycle time, conversion rates and applicant funnel metrics to benchmark or above
- Alignment with finance and operations partners to optimize labor acquisition strategy
- Demonstrated return on investment from community engagement strategies
- Meet or exceed associate experience service levels and KPI’s measured by hiring activity results and defect reduction
- Deliver Monthly business reviews
- Growth of team’s core and advanced skills sets measured by progression in their career path
- Up to 50% travel, both domestic and international, may be required
Facilitate between teams resulting from issues which could be process or people based.
A great focus on attention to detail with the ability to multi task in a target driven and fast paced organization.
The ability to think on feet and react to a wide range of issues which may or may not have a direct impact on operations
Produce detailed reports from large amounts of data relating to order fulfilment, attrition and people issues which would have a direct effect on future orders for the suppliers concerned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- 10 years of experience in operations, human resources, capacity planning, or other similar fields
- Excellent project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills with internal and external teams along with the ability to mediate between large groups of suppliers in both English and Spanish
- Flexibility in working hours is essential as would need to be available to work with agencies and the internal recruitment team on induction days to monitor service levels reached
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• MBA graduate
• Good literacy, particularly MS Excel
• Knowledge of Mexican employment law and HR / Payroll practices would be advantageous
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies would be highly advantageous
