The Infrastructure team provides AWS and Amazon.com with the compute, network and data center capacity that are the foundations of the retail and cloud business.
We are seeking a motivated and data-driven Procurement Leader to support the Americas data center delivery space. Manager, Data Center Sourcing and Procurement is responsible for developing clear organizational action plans to drive the most nimble, agile, and resilient supply chains. Enabling to achieve the best availability of vendors to deploy Cabling projects at the lowest total cost of ownership in order to fuel the exponential growth across our Data Centers as we meet and exceed customer demand. In this role you will lead internal and external engagements across Supply Chain, Engineering and Business organizations diving deep into the technologies and operations both from a delivery and supply chain perspective. You will analyze trends involving the industry suppliers, customers, and technology to develop strategies to secure supply, reduce cost, minimize risk, and utilize emerging opportunities, allowing AWS to meet and exceed its goals. You will be part of the conceptual development of future and existing data center architecture design changes as a supply chain subject matter expert influencing the supply base technological road maps to align with the long-term AWS vision.
The candidate should have strong supply chain and procurement skills, analytical and financial acumen, communication capabilities and a hands-on passion to dive-deep into processes used in our data center operations network. Additionally, candidate must have proven skills in managing large-scale supply chain and procurement improvement projects.
The ideal candidate thinks long term, drives multiple initiatives, communicates appropriately and influences customers and suppliers at all levels. You will be collaborative, but also work with significant autonomy. To be successful in this role you will be highly analytical; think strategically and globally; exhibit curiosity and learning drive; have a sense of urgency to meet customer timelines, succeed in a fast-paced environment; and have a high level of customer focus and business judgement. It will be critical to embrace and model Amazon’s Leadership Principles and have an entrepreneurial spirit.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead a team of Senior Procurement professionals to drive supply chain and supplier selection strategy for Cabling labor category within new Data Center Planning and Delivery space.
• Work closely with engineering, operations and delivery teams to identify key supply risks impacting on-time data center delivery and implement proactive mechanisms to mitigate risks.
• Sponsor and lead the development of long term supply agreements to mitigate capacity and delivery risks, drive cost savings, enable faster DC delivery, and embodied carbon reduction.
• Serve as an escalation point of contact and lead engagement with senior leaders at key suppliers.
• Drive innovation and process simplification efforts to enable long term scaling.
Requires travel up to 15% of the year.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of managing procurement teams with direct experience in supplier / supply chain management
- 7+ years of working cross functionally with procurement experience
- 7+ years of program or project management experience
- 7+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience and working cross functionally across several teams experience
- Bachelor's degree or a Master's degree
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Operations.
- Experience with Cabling and Networking teams, negotiating with contractors, sub contractors, equipment manufacturers.
- Experience in data centers, engineering, an infrastructure service provider or similar technology company.
- Experience measuring key operational metrics (e.g., order cycle time, ship estimate accuracy, on time and complete shipment, inventory record defect rate)
- Experience practicing best-in-class procurement processes (category management, bench-marking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, etc.).
- Strong quantitative, financial and qualitative analytical skills paired with hands-on attitude, excellent attention to detail, and good business judgment
- Experience developing tools, reports, process maps, scorecards, and data visualizations that improve upon those currently employed for understanding the business and making decisions
