Team Exposure/Scope:
Amazon is seeking an exceptional Senior Financial Analyst to join the JP Transportation Finance team. You'll support our expanding transportation network while gaining significant Operations Finance experience. In this role, you'll work closely with cross-functional business and finance leaders to drive end-to-end transportation carrier selection strategy, optimizing cost, delivery speed, and accuracy.

As our ideal candidate, you'll quickly develop an in-depth understanding of Amazon transportation network and its key financial drivers. You'll become proficient with Amazon's data systems, conducting efficient analyses to reduce costs while exercising controllership and enhancing the customer experience. Your excellent verbal and written communication skills will enable you to collaborate with and influence senior leaders. In this fast-paced environment, you'll drive decision-making using data-driven insights.
Key job responsibilities
• Identify and lead large-scale projects, providing financial support and thought leadership to maximize Amazon's end-to-end transportation network.
• Act as a finance partner to the JP ATS (Amazon Transportation Service) team, effectively communicating financial insights to drive business actions.
• Develop robust and scalable finance processes and tools that influence and support tactical and strategic decision-making.
• Analyze quantitative data to create impactful reports and metrics that improve Amazon's cash flow and customer experience.
• Participate in hiring, developing, and mentoring peers and team members, promoting diversity and inclusiveness.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 3+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 3+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 3+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
- Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 3+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- Business level of Japanese language skill (reading, writing, speaking)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- 3+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- MBA, or CPA
