Amazon WWRR&S is comprised of business, product, operational, program, software engineering and data teams that manage the life of a returned or damaged product from a customer to the warehouse and on to its next best use. In this role as Sr. Business Development Manager, NA Partnerships you will build and manage our returns partnerships strategy with some of the largest companies in the world. This role will be responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and pursuing new collaboration opportunities and Think Big/long-term ideas with our most strategic partners in the US and CA to improve the returns customer experience and to drive the right business outcomes for Amazon. You will develop and lead partner relationships independently and in collaboration with several teams in Consumer, AWS, Operations, Corp BD and more. You will own and drive partner sourcing, pipeline/pitches, commercial, legal and technical negotiations leading up to partner launches as well as deal renewals and new program negotiations.

The right candidate stays on top of industry and competitive trends, and can execute at both a tactical and strategic level to drive the right business outcomes while also improving our customer experience. Our ideal candidate will have deep experience in business analytics, strategic relationship building, deal negotiation, and P/L management. In addition, the candidate will enjoy improving customer experience for both customers and partners.

Needed Skills and Abilities:

- Leader: Significant experience leading partner teams through trust, good judgment, decision making and data
- Communicator: Ability to present to c-level executives, communicate expectations and requirements equally well with business and technology teams, and capacity to write well-reasoned and data-driven proposals, performing your own data analysis as necessary
- Doer: Ability to successfully deliver end-to-end technology and operations projects, working through the many obstacles along the way
- Problem Solver: Ability to utilize exceptional problem-solving skills to work through difficult challenges

Fluency in one or more of Italian, French, Spanish, German languages is preferred.

Key job responsibilities
- Define a market development plan and ensure it is in line with the strategic direction of the business and execute in partnership with key internal stakeholders (product, finance, operations, tech, marketing, partner teams, legal, etc.).
- Build business development pipeline by identifying and engaging with key prospects and partners
- Understand the internal and partner technical requirements, influence and work closely with both internal and partner tech/development teams to guide the direction of our product offerings
- Independently lead the deep-dive, tracking and reporting of key customer and business metrics
- Own and present business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to expanding our reach in the retail industry
- Manage complex contract negotiations and liaison with the legal group
- Handle a high volume of engagements and interactions
- Understand the use of salesforce.com and other internal Amazon systems.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
- 5+ years of professional or military experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations
- Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
