Business Analyst, ATS Rail and Warehouse transfer, IN Rail Central Planning
DESCRIPTION
As a Business Analyst, you will work closely with internal and external team members. We are looking for individuals with proven ability to drive process improvements & ability to keep pace with our explosive growth. The individual should have a can-do attitude and an ability to solve problems independently with limited guidance. Your role will involve managing operational metrics, lead continuous improvement process and cost initiatives, manage carrier communications in the area of ownership and plan for any changes in network.
In this role, you will be responsible for data mining and data reporting activities pertaining to ops processes. You should be passionate about working with complex datasets and be someone who loves to turn data into insights to answer strategic business questions. You should have deep expertise in analytic view of business questions, building up & refining metrics framework to measure business operation and translating data into meaningful insights.
With customer obsession and a high sense of ownership, you will utilize your skills to identify patterns and any disruptions in it. You should be able to dive deep, scrutinize details and foresee data implications. The candidate relishes working with large volumes of data, enjoys the challenge of highly complex technical contexts, and, above all else, is passionate about data and analytics. He/she is an expert with data modeling, ETL design and business intelligence tools, has hand-on knowledge on columnar databases such as Redshift and other related AWS technologies. He/she passionately partners with the customers to identify strategic opportunities in the field of data engineering. He/she is a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, able to think big (while paying careful attention to detail) and enjoys working in a fast-paced team that continuously learns and evolves on a day to day basis.
Key job responsibilities
1. Daily, weekly and monthly research activities: Data mining and understand the reason for defects
2. Prepare and publish daily, weekly and monthly report on operations
3. Set performance evaluation metrics
4. Standardize operations, processes and reporting
About the team
Rail planning team does the capacity planning for the middle mile network of Rail. The team owns the configurations, leadership reporting, program tracking and cost accruals creation
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ years of data analytics or automation experience
- 1+ years of capacity planning, operations planning, business analysis or similar experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of data pipelining and extraction using SQL
- Knowledge of SQL and Excel at a moderate or advanced level
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, computer science, data science, engineering, or other related field
