We’re looking for ambitious and enthusiastic students and recent grads to join us at the heart of our core consumer business. As an EU Legal Trainee you will join one of our legal teams in our European Headquarters in Luxembourg.

Amazon is currently looking for a Trainee to join the EU Legal Department for a 6-month period. The role is based in Luxembourg.
- The Legal Department is a trusted partner of Amazon’s growing global business. We understand our business clients’ needs and deliver actionable, business-oriented solutions, relying on technology to ensure fast access to resources and information. We work closely with the business on exciting, cutting-edge development and expansion projects from strategy definition throughout implementation. We provide advice on a wide array of legal issues, including commercial contracts, IP, consumer protection, data protection, competition, regulatory and compliance matters.
Your Responsibilities
- We are looking for smart, motivated individuals to support our Legal team in Luxembourg.
- As a member of the Legal Department, you will actively be involved in providing support and advice to local and international business clients, in the context of development projects as well as day-to-day business.
- You will assist on a variety of tasks typical of a corporate environment, including reviewing / revising routing business agreements and other legal documents, and monitoring and reporting on news, legislation, and policy developments in EU countries pertaining to the main areas of law.
- You will be involved in the analysis of a variety of legal issues (in particular in respect of contracts, consumer protection, and compliance under the EU legislation), including carrying out research, and in the preparation of responses to internal clients’ queries.
- You will also participate in local and international projects aimed at innovating and simplifying the Legal Department’s work and organization, and at driving best practices across EU. To this end, you may be asked to participate in the development of employee training materials, contract review and maintenance.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• You are a student or a recent graduate (i.e., Law degree or Master's degree) from a renowned European law school (average note: outstanding).
• You are fluent in English (written and verbal) and ideally other European languages such as: Spanish, German, French or Italian (the more the better).
• You have excellent research, writing, and analytical skills. You enjoy learning by doing, and are very good at communicating. You pay attention to details and you like to structure and organize things so that they make sense.
• When people call you “perfectionist” you are proud of that. You see things through to the end, iron out the wrinkles and ensure everything works well.
• Strong motivation to work in a fast-paced environment. Enthusiasm and willingness to roll up sleeves, learn fast, and take responsibility
Strong Internet‐based research and advanced Word processing skills essential; very comfortable with software in general.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Excellent legal, communication and organizational skills.
