Senior Program Manager, AWS Australia & New Zealand Public Sector
DESCRIPTION
AWS’s Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) Public Sector business is looking for an experienced Senior Program Manager to help drive large and complex programs that are transforming the mission capabilities of our ANZ public sector customers.
This role will require the right candidate to use judgment, negotiation skills, analytical talent, technical aptitude, and leadership to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders, deliver program roadmaps and strategies, eliminate non-value-add activity, design solutions, remove blockers, and find creative ways to accelerate project delivery. The candidate will have a proven track record of complex program and project delivery, from conception and design through to implementation, measurement, closure, handover, and monitoring. The candidate is able to manage multiple, cross-functional competing projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation and agility are encouraged. The ideal candidate sees around corners, is adept at eliminating complexity, is biased for action in ensuring the project/program is set up for success in achieving our goals, has experience making the right tradeoffs, and earns trust through broad stakeholder influence.
Key job responsibilities
• Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment across varied programs and in sensitive contexts
• Establish, optimize, and retire mechanisms and processes to improve conditions for program success
• Establish new norms on various aspects of the program and build alignment across teams
• Drive projects for their entire lifecycle from planning through post-launch measurement
• Own reporting of critical operations-related metrics to business stakeholders
• Rely heavily on influence over authority to drive project deliverables.
• Liaise with other Amazon teams to ensure relevant areas are engaged and aligned to support program deliverables
• Build effective relationships with multiple internal and external, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver complex, projects
• The ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, across all teams and levels of seniority within Amazon (e.g., technical, business, executive)
• Clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes.
• Develop, improve, and share operational best practices across the region and with peers globally.
• Mentor, train, and develop career progression for indirect reports and members of the organization (Program Managers).
Hold or be able to attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance (see https://www.agsva.gov.au/applicants/eligibility-and-suitability)
