Amazon Studios is the movies and television development and production arm of Amazon. It is our role to produce original content and license studio programs worldwide in exclusive service of Amazon’s Prime Video customers.
We are seeking a software engineer to join the Amazon Studios AI Labs team, developing bleeding edge AI solutions to enhance efficiency, elevate creativity, and ultimately redefine industry standards, ensuring that every decision is accelerated by intelligence and foresight. Key job responsibilities
You will be responsible for designing and developing software products that will provide GenAI based solutions to a wide set of users across all of Amazon Studios. You will be able to demonstrate a variety of architectural approaches and design patterns and have a demonstrated competence in designing maintainable and scalable software written in a high-level language. You'll work with Data & Applied Scientists, Economists, and other senior technical leaders who are advancing measurement science and causal inference. You will show your ability to adapt to changing technical environments and devise creative solutions to vexing software problems. You will encounter some of the toughest and most inspiring technical challenges of your career as you build petabyte-scale services, invent new big data paradigms, and scale for extreme growth.
A day in the life
You will partner with our product teams, bringing your own ideas to the conversation and aligning on work, adjusting priorities based on business requirements and fast iteration on experiments.
You will work with scientists on rapid data gathering prototypes and analyses and represent the rigor of engineering in the conversation; you will engage with scientists, product and finance to align on the benefits of the proposed approach.
You will help harmonise our product stack, enabling simple monitoring and self healing that allow us to do more with less through automation and rapid diagnostic tools.
About the team
This role is in a team that is building a new family of AI products for Amazon Studios. This team is considered strategic and has visibility with Prime Video Amazon Studios leadership at the highest levels. The role offers a chance to build and launch new AI services from the ground up, learn the state of the art in machine learning (ML) technology, and work closely with an exceptional group of product, engineering, and science leaders.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in professional, non-internship software development
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
- Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
