Finance Manager, Amazon MGM Studios FP&A
DESCRIPTION
Amazon MGM Studios' Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team is looking for a Finance Manager to support the business and finance teams, with a focus on managing Fixed Opex costs. This role will focus on both core financial planning cycles, including Month-End Close, Quarterly Guidance forecasts and Annual Operating Plans, as well as ongoing controllership. This is a highly visible role to Amazon leaders and a great opportunity for candidates looking for a challenge and a place to shine. Key stakeholders include corporate finance, business finance, accounting, and business operations teams.
The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, solid business judgement capable of driving an organization to the right results, strong business partnership building, exceptional excel/systems skills, keen attention to detail, and strong verbal and written communication skills. He or she will have demonstrated success in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment. The team needs a self-starter, who is able to work efficiently and autonomously. He or she must be able to think and act both strategically and tactically and manage multiple competing priorities effectively.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead month end, quarterly, annual operating financial planning working cross functionally with various teams, including PV and AMS finance, accounting, and business operations
- Ensure data is accurately reflected in financial planning systems, including Essbase and Cognos
- Drive process automation to streamline current processes and enhance financial controllership
- Analyze complex financial data and provide accurate and timely reports to key stakeholders, highlighting key insights and recommendations
- Support the month-end close process and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Assist in developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Manage and mentor a senior financial analyst
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MBA, or CPA
- Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving
- FP&A and/or Public Accounting background, including an understanding of entertainment/studios accounting concepts
- Demonstrated effective communication and presentation skills working with multiple peer groups and senior levels of management
- Demonstrated curiosity to learn complex new subjects quickly and earn business/finance partners’ trust
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (macros, index, conditional list, arrays, pivots, lookups)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic, ever-growing and often ambiguous environment; effective multi-tasking skills are vital

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
