Senior Corporate Counsel, Amazon Business, Amazon Business
DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented attorney to support Amazon Business, our rapidly growing, business-to-business store. Amazon Business is reshaping how businesses buy and sell supplies. We provide a procurement solution to more than 5 million businesses to help streamline their purchasing. Since launching in the U.S. in 2015, Amazon Business has expanded to eight additional countries and exceeded $40 billion in worldwide annualized sales.
You will partner with leaders from Amazon Business' sales organization to negotiate deals with large, enterprise customers, develop solutions to meet the unique needs of business customers, drive improvements and simplifications to our sales processes, and help plan for AB's future growth.
Key job responsibilities
Working directly with the business and developing strategies for handling legal issues in creative, efficient, and business-centric ways
Serving as lead counsel on strategic deals and new product launches, while also providing day-to-day legal advice
Handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries, and overseeing some aspects of regulatory compliance
Developing approaches to address customer pain points
Driving simplifications and improvements to our government contracting and compliance processes
Working with Amazon’s Public Policy team on legislative developments that impact our business
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience in technology and commercial transactions or businesses
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working closely with and advising senior executives of an organization or equivalent
- Experience working independently and directly with all levels of legal and business partners or equivalent
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $164,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $272,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
