Customer Experience and Business Trends (CXBT) is looking for a scale-focused and customer-obsessed System Development Engineer. Customer Experience and Business Trends is an organization made up of a diverse suite of functions dedicated to deeply understanding and improving customer experience, globally. We are a team of builders that develop products, services, ideas, and various ways of leveraging data to influence product and service offerings - for almost every business at Amazon - for every customer (e.g., consumers, developers, sellers/brands, employees, investors, streamers, gamers).

We are looking for talented System Development Engineers to develop optimized solutions to create high quality data for identifying business trends. The position requires working directly with the Amazon product and customer insights managers to contribute from Ideation to Execution in a fast paced manner. Work on operations and maintenance driven coding projects, primarily in Java, Python, AWS, web technologies, set-up high coding standards to ensure the quality of the delivery. Propose, drive and implement technical solutions for automation, efficiency and scalability. Partner with Software developers in team for handing-off or taking over active support issues, provide oncall support and technical consultation to Amazon internal customers.

Key job responsibilities
- Operational excellence through support of incoming tickets, including extensive troubleshooting tasks, with responsibilities covering multiple products, features and services
- Work on operations and maintenance driven coding projects, primarily in Java, Python, AWS, web technologies, set-up high coding standards to ensure the quality of the delivery.
- Software deployment support in staging and production environments.
- Develop tools to automate and aid operations and maintenance.
- System and Support status reporting. Propose, drive and implement technical solutions for automation, efficiency and scalability.
- Work directly with the Amazon product and customer insights managers to contribute from Ideation to Execution in a fast paced manner.
- Work with Software developers in team for handing-off or taking over active support issues, provide oncall support and technical consultation to Amazon internal customers, develop automation scripts in python and internal platform similar to Selenium.
- Innovate new ideas and implement to continuously improve the coverage and quality of the information.

Stay connected with the CXBT Product and Customer Insights Managers, solve unique problems that help setup Amazon, as a business, towards success. Work with developers in the team to solve these problems efficiently and in automated fashion, focus on resolution rather than mitigation.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Are enrolled in or have completed a Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field
- 1+ years of contributing to automation for new and current system experience
- Experience programming or scripting language like Python, Java, C or C++
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure
- Experience tools for automation (building, testing, releasing or monitoring)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
- Experience working in large scale software development environment
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
