Business Analyst II, EU CF Sustainability

Our team is looking for a talented, motivated, and self-directed Business Analyst to join our Energy and Carbon team. Data analysis is at the core Amazon’s culture, and your work will have a direct impact on decision making and strategy for our team. You will be gathering insights, mining data, making recommendations, and helping senior leaders make key business decisions. You will have the opportunity to dive into multiple areas within sustainability, with a focus on Energy & Carbon. In particular, you will generate insights and drive initiatives focusing on performance management, owning Energy, Carbon, Utility data, and carbon data integration and improvements. The candidate will also provide recommendations for initiatives and own strategic projects (e.g. UBM, M&V, Glidepath). We expect the candidate to visit FCs and to identify issues and drive improvements. The candidate will also have close interaction with central teams (Ops, Legal, Procurement, PR/ER, Tech, WW Sustainability and Engineering) and external stakeholders (Vendors).
The preferred candidate should be based in Luxembourg and have experience in business analytics, preferably within the sustainability space.
We are looking for someone with a broad technical background in data analytics, strong business acumen, who takes ownership of their work, and is focused on customer needs. The successful candidate will communicate crisply in non-technical terms to senior management. They will have an ability to make data-driven conclusions and will be comfortable with ambiguity while working in a fast-paced dynamic environment. The candidate will also need to be a collaborator who can work with multiple internal and external teams to define and implement solutions that will yield benefits to Amazon customers around the world.
Key job responsibilities
1. Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing and new metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to help determine key business drivers, continually improving reporting and analysis processes.
2. Build a data structure and reporting process by working through various business metrics, which establish truth in data.
3. Understand the business challenges and identify data-driven business insights with effective presentation of findings at multiple levels of stakeholders.
4. Leverage data to increase the efficiency of our programs working closely with business teams to drive optimization..
5. Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting, analysis, and research (data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation).
6. Own data and quality enabling programs e.g. Utility Bill Management Program and our Measure and Verification Program.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field
- Experience in Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau
- Experience in business or financial analysis
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Experience with Excel
- Experience with SQL
- Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
