But it’s still Day 1 for the podcast experience, and we’re looking for some great engineers to help us make it even better.
As a member of the Amazon Music Podcasts team, you will be responsible for leading the effort to invent and improve the ways that customers can discover, engage with, and listen to podcasts. You will create new scalable systems to fulfill customer requests, algorithms to pick the perfect podcasts, client interfaces on mobile and web that engage listeners, and services to enable customers to seamlessly resume listening on any device.
Our team is responsible for the podcast experience across Amazon Music to include our native iOS and Android applications, web player, and Alexa voice clients. Initiatives include creating intelligent podcast recommenders, designing seamless handoff between Alexa and mobile clients, surfacing content based on a customer’s prior listening, continually improving podcast search, real time transcripts, and other strategic investments to make podcasts on Amazon Music the best place to listen to podcasts.
As a software development engineer on the podcast team, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Design and develop solutions in Swift on our Amazon Music iOS application
- Design and develop solutions in Java and Kotlin on our Amazon Music Android application
- Design and develop solutions in JavaScript and React on our Amazon Music Web application
- Design and develop scalable services on AWS to support global podcast customers
- Influence and improve our efforts to develop mobile applications at scale
- Collaborate and innovate with the Amazon Music team to drive growth and improve the experience of millions of customers across our clients and applications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- - Experience with mobile application development using native iOS (Swift) & Android (Java, Kotlin) languages or React Native.
- - Experience designing and consuming APIs across mobile and web clients
- - Experience with web application development using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Redux.
- - Experience with AWS technologies
- - Coding experience with automated testing frameworks, tools and services
- - Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
