We are now looking to hire a passionate, innovative and customer-obsessed candidate to support our end-to-end network planning and optimization. As a Plan Optimization Analyst, you will work with software engineers, product managers and business teams to understand the requirements/current challenges, distill that understanding into actionable and executable technical projects, and develop innovative solutions to achieve an end-to-end planning and execution integration across the whole fulfillment pipeline.
Key job responsibilities
• Solve complex optimization and machine learning problems using scalable algorithmic techniques.
• Design and develop efficient research prototypes that address real-world problems in the last-mile operations of Amazon.
• Lead complex time-bound, long-term as well as ad-hoc analyses to assist decision making.
• Communicate to leadership results from business analysis, strategies and tactics.
A day in the life
The role will own the approval from senior functional leaders to enable strategies to improve processes and performances. You will be a natural self-starter who is comfortable supporting complex cross functional projects and action plans. You will have a true hands-on approach, the ability to generate solutions, strong process management skills, and be an effective communicator.

About the team
Network Process Optimization (NPO) relentlessly improves quality and robustness of processes in network planning. To achieve this, Plan Optimization Analysts stay in the trenches with business to feel their pain and work with tech teams to deliver the right tools for the job. Key pillars are: i) identifying research projects which are most relevant for business, ii) bridging business needs with solution complexity to find the best trade-off between development times and impact, iii) enforcing that the design works backward from the final users.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent
- Experience in deep diving operational metrics and problem solving.
- Experience with some programming language (Java/python/C++)
- Experience leading and interacting with cross-functional teams
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Fluent in written and spoken English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree, or equivalent
- Academic or Work experience on Optimization Research
- Presentation skills
- Good organization skills and ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Good oral and written communication skills, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively and problem-solve
- Business judgment, ability to influence others, and good analytical thinking skills
- Ability to evaluate priorities appropriately, apt at resolving conflict and to communicate intentions clearly, delivering within time constraints
