AWS Professional Services (ProServe) is seeking a Director, Global Delivery to lead, inspire, and develop ProServe’s delivery specialist teams to ensure we are delivering business value and exceeding customer expectations. The Director, Global Delivery will report to Francessca Vasquez, VP, ProServe, and serve as an inclusive champion for a global team of over 500+ people. This role currently spans 48 countries with revenue in the hundreds of millions. This leader is expected to lead teams and help grow revenue over the next 3-5 years by optimizing ProServe’s delivery model and developing industry-specific alliances with partners that can provide scale to the organization, in a manner that improves contribution margin to the organization.

The ideal candidate will have a background in Professional Services, Engagement Delivery, and Business Management/Operations. They will have demonstrated experience building Consulting businesses or practices, hiring and developing diverse teams, and delivering on complex projects of all sizes. The successful candidate will earn trust through performance and relationship building; they’ll also have enough technical background (preferably in cloud) to be credible with our most technical partners and implementation teams. They will be a natural problem solver with expertise in developing strategies that optimize businesses for growth as well as leveraging automation and generative AI to drive better outcome efficiency.

The Director, Global Delivery is someone who is agile, thrives in hyper-growth environments, and is willing to dive deep to get the job done. Overall the successful candidate must have exceptional people leadership experience, astute judgment, and outstanding negotiation and influencing skills.


Key job responsibilities
The Director, Global Delivery will oversee the high-quality delivery of a variety of customized engagements with our most strategic customers. This Director will ensure delivery teams are collaborating effectively with key integrators (SIs), software vendors (ISVs) and managed services providers (MSPs) to help teams and partners succeed in large, complex customer engagements. They will support pre-sales teams and the development of complex, multi-year solutions for customers that are delivered by AWS and partners. This leader will drive a robust offshore strategy with accelerated hiring in remote locations like India, Poland, etc. In addition, they will implement strategic delivery mechanisms, including centralization, to decrease effort and increase speed for our customers to achieve their business outcomes.

This leader’s ongoing responsibilities include:
• Manage a 500+ person global delivery team while serving as an executive sponsor for key customers around the world
• Build and/or expand partner engagement and tiering models that enable engagements to consistently deliver to project staffing models and revenue/ margin expectations
• Establish delivery excellence methods to ensure engagement health and predict/ address project disruption
• Establish productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness metrics that fosters a behavior of continuous improvement while maintaining economic optimums
• Create quality control and quality assurance processes that drive consistent high-quality delivery
• Develop competency models that enable all shared delivery resources to cross train, attain certifications, and achieve technical eminence internally and externally
• Establish a customer obsession culture that continuously identifies new opportunities through which customers can realize new value from their AWS investment
• Ensure Global Delivery continues to Think Big and find innovative ways to accelerate and increase the adoption of our product and solution offerings.

Success in the role will be measured by delivery excellence and quality of engagement, customer satisfaction, delivery productivity, healthy operating margin, direct revenue, contribution margin, utilization & productivity, ProServe public references, AWS partner integration, cloud consumption, as well as driving strategic and innovative solutions in the market.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 15+ years of enterprise IT consulting and delivery experience with global Fortune 500 companies.
• 5+ years of experience leading professional services delivery teams in the areas of IT service management, cloud computing, or IT Strategy.
• Building and leading teams at a global level.
• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience; Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Math background preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous consulting/IT advisory services, delivery and implementation experience.
• Track record of leading technical teams that deliver complex transformational IT consulting engagements with Fortune 500 customers.
• Outstanding customer relationship management, executive presence, and collaboration skills.
• Consulting practice leadership as manager of managers; led cross-functional project teams on large, high profile and complex delivery engagements.
• Demonstrated ability to work in ambiguity and scale systems, processes, and teams across multiple lines of businesses and customers.
• Previous experience in an organization that has built and/or sold solutions, products, or platforms.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $241,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $350,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
