DESCRIPTION
Amazon is seeking an experienced Analyst to join a fast-paced team in Amazon’s tax group to assist with the management of audits across APAC.
In order to be successful, the candidate must possess the ability to think strategically while also engaging in day-to-day tactical details. The candidate should demonstrate an attitude and work ethic that closely align with key Amazon Leadership Principles such as Deep Dive, Learn and Be Curious, Bias for Action, and Invent and Simplify.
The candidate will demonstrate a can do attitude, and an ability to adapt and learn quickly to meet the constantly changing needs of the team. The candidate will possess the ability to complete multiple concurrent projects at the same time with little guidance; react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick response; take effective action without always knowing all relevant information; and solve problems that affect people within the group or other related groups. This role has regular interaction with leaders in various business units across Amazon and requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Key job responsibilities
· Prepare written materials and analysis describing and supporting tax positions across APAC
· Assist in reviewing tax positions to assess and mitigate risks
· Assist Amazon tax teams on a wide variety of direct, indirect, and international tax issues, particularly from an audit management and strategy perspective
· Assist with informational interviews of members in various business teams
· Coordinate delivery of information requests, ensuring consistency across various jurisdictions. This includes handling accounting and financial data, performing reconciliations, and interacting with members of the broader tax team, the business and other corporate services departments to gather and prepare submissions
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department
- 4+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in a large public accounting firm, law firm, or a fast-paced in-house tax department
- Experience handling regional/multi-jurisdictional tax matters
- Strong project management skills
- Proficiency with the interpretation of accounting and financial data, including reconciliations and use of Excel.
- Experience with Essbase and Oracle Financial Applications
